ITEMS WE NEED
In-Kind Donation Policy
Compass Housing Alliance will no longer accept gifts of used blankets, clothing, furniture and children’s toys. The community has been very generous in donating these items. However, due to the cost of receiving, sterilizing, storing and distributing these items, we have decided to focus on donations that we know will make a positive impact on the lives of our clients.
Please consult the list below before making any in-kind donations.
Please note – there may be circumstances during the year when we are in need of household items and furniture. In these cases, we will send out a public notice to all our donors informing them of our immediate needs.
General Policies
1. All donors will be asked to contact the agency before dropping off any items. Please call 206.357.3108. Donations will not be accepted without prior notice.
2. In most cases the transportation of items to Compass Housing Alliance by staff is not available.
3. The valuation of any in-kind donation is the responsibility of the donor
4. In-kind donations must be wholly consistent, in fact and appearance, with activities, policies, mission, goals and /or programs of Compass Housing Alliance.
5. Due to lack of storage space, resources and hygiene concerns, Compass Housing Alliance reserves the right to decline any in-kind donations.
6. Items that are accepted as in-kind donations by the Compass Housing Alliance become the property of Compass Housing Alliance and may be re-donated, sold or discarded as need be.

New Clothing
Compass Housing Alliance can no longer accept used clothing at any of our sites. All donated clothing MUST be new and unused.
