JACK, PETER’S PLACE
It wasn’t long ago that Jack, a regular at our Peter’s Place day center, received a phone call that would change his life. Jack visits our service center in Seattle’s Central Area for conversation and camaraderie, and to meet with our case management staff. When his case manager unexpectedly called him into her office, it was to give him the news Jack had been waiting for since 2008, when he first became homeless. Jack’s apartment was ready; he was going home for the first time in six years.
It was hard work — and some guidance and support from our compassionate, caring staff — that put Jack on his path out of homelessness. Each day, we welcome more than 100 guests to Peter’s Place who are on their own journeys.
“I knew I needed to do something to be able to make a change,” Jack says. “It was hard work, but I’m thankful to have these resources available to me.”
