Building community is more than a phrase for Compass Housing Alliance, LCSNW’s housing division. It is a calling that Compass lives out every day by partnering with their guests, residents, and neighbors to make the Puget Sound region a safer, more caring community.

One of those neighbors is the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

For the third season in a row, the Seahawks selected Compass as a Spirit of 12 partner, a competitive honor that makes Compass the third longest-tenured partner in the program. On October 4, Compass co-led the game’s 50/50 raffle volunteer team at Lumen Field. Compass volunteers, LCSNW colleagues, and community members sold more than $140,000 in 50/50 raffle tickets, a Compass regular-season record! The nonprofit share of the season-long raffle sales supports Compass and all other Spirit of 12 partners.

The volunteer group was a genuine community effort, with LCSNW joining in for the first time following our January 2026 merger. The team included program volunteers, corporate partners, staff members, and a significant number of family members and friends. What a great start to the season, culminating in a Seahawks win over the Los Angeles Chargers!

So how does it work? Every NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks select twelve organizations to form the Spirit of 12 cohort. Each nonprofit partner has strong local ties and works toward a wide variety of goals to help the Puget Sound region live up to its potential. Spirit of 12 partner volunteers sell yearbooks at Training Camp and 50/50 raffle tickets at Seahawks home games, with each jackpot split between the lucky winner and the twelve nonprofits. Compass earned over $235,000 in its first two seasons, thanks to the volunteers who make it all happen.

“I’ve never done this before, but this was so much fun,” said Marie, a first-time volunteer. She waved down a fan and, through the conversation, got him to bump up his tickets. That was par for the course with the 12s.

Compass staff were all smiles as they worked the event space before the game.

“The 12s get it,” said Ted, a Seahawks lifetime fan, as he bought his raffle tickets. “I do this every game and I love the charities it supports. It’s just what we do out here in Seattle.”

With such a strong start, we can’t wait to see what this season will bring.

Teena Ellison (second from the left), Compass Senior Director of Housing and Services, brought her son and her future daughter-in-law (second from the right) to raise money for the Spirit of 12! Luz Escalante (left), LCSNW Senior IT Project Manager, joined in on the fun!

The good news is that we aren’t done. In fact, we have more games available for volunteers to help raise funds for the Spirit of 12. It is fun, fast, and a great way to help make things better for our neighbors in need. Plus, you are surrounded by happy fans, bright costumes, live music, and a group of Compass volunteers who always bring the passion.

Compass volunteers always bring enthusiasm, energy, and passion to their volunteer role, and it makes a huge difference in connecting with fans to support our community.
