It’s that time of year when the weather starts getting colder, the holiday lights go up, and thieves start stealing packages, or in our case, breaking into our Compass on Dexter admin building. The Grinch swiped laptops, newly donated socks for our hygiene center, employees’ personal items, and even the van we use to spread holiday cheer (including the “roast beast”)!
We’re currently working with the police to investigate the theft. We have had to re-key the entire building, further increase our security, and are trying to work around the loss of in-kind donations, food, and gifts that disappeared during the break-in. The costs related to this incident are piling up.
