From tutoring to gardening, our volunteers go above and beyond for our guests and residents. We are so grateful!
Let’s meet a few of them.

David P. has tutored resident kids in both math and reading at Ronald Commons.
Dick S. is our standout volunteer/partner rep from Shoreline Covenant Church. He represents their “Giving Locally” outreach to Ronald Commons for 9 years now. Annually, he oversees a program that at Christmas brings us a $25 gift card for each child, $300 towards our Easter Egg Hunt event, sponsors our spring garden efforts with up to $500, as well as providing several volunteers from the church, contributes both funds and volunteer hours for the National Night Out, originated the sandbox in the resident garden, and maintains it. He has been an incredibly valuable role model and mentor to me.
Marie B. is a super volunteer here at RC and throughout our small Shoreline community. Marie brings home prepared food for community meetings and events, takes event photos and shares with staff so we are freed up to engage with folks, is always ready to participate actively in Easter Egg Hunt, Gardening care, and any memorial activities for residents who pass. In addition, over the past 9 years, she has built valuable volunteer relationships with the RUMC RC Cafe, serving on Thursday nights and setting up and cleaning up as needed; weekly shifts at the Hopelink Food Bank; and for several summers at the Shoreline Farmers Market. She is a bright ray of sunshine, always eager to ease our burden and support community building.
Lee K. is a retired individual who is a master gardener and already deeply invested in a number of different volunteer efforts in the Shoreline community, and for the last five years has been our garden mentor and leader in helping educate us and support us with each year’s planning for planting and garden work party.
